About Doctor Cloud
We live in an age full of smartphone screens and notifications. On a daily base, we get hundreds of messages. Technological innovations are changing faster and faster, and as a human we have to keep up with these innovations. Silicon Valley has us in its grip. The developed systems are designed to create a high degree of addiction and social pressure. Reward systems like notification sounds and pop-up adds overstimulate our brain. Our tech habits are hurting us. This motivated me to come up with a new job: Doctor Cloud. Doctor Cloud is specialized in digital diseases and disorders.
So how does it work?
Doctor Cloud’s pop-up surgery offers a place where you are able to discuss your thoughts, desires and worries about the digital world. When you visit Doctor Cloud you will experience a walk-in consultation that questions your smartphone behavior. Feeling depressed after receiving only two likes on an Instagram post? Any problems moving your joints because of messaging to much tinder dates? You have come to the right address. By doing the test, Doctor Cloud is able to determine if you might suffer from one of the eight digital diseases. Doctor Cloud warns you of these diseases and makes you ready for the future. Human evolution continues.
Doctor Cloud is a concept created by Cisco Schepens, founder of CISCONCEPTS. After a year of research at the HKU academy of arts in Utrecht a new concept was born. Cisco is fascinated by the way human communication changed over the years. After doing a lot of research he found out how a couple of companies from Silicon Valley are shaping human thoughts all over the planet. In aversion to the unethical systems of these big tech companies, Cisco came up with Doctor Cloud. The concept was awarded for the audience award at the HKU final project exposition and is still in the running for the HKU awards. The project is selected by Philips and U-create to participate at the Dutch Design Week 2018. Interest in knowing more about the project?
